چکیده

In this research, a poly (ionic liquid) functionalised silica-coated magnetic nanoparticles were synthesised for the first time and utilised as novel adsorbent simultaneous extraction of six phthalic acid esters from polyethylene terephthalate bottled drinking water samples. The was prepared by grafting (1-benzyl-3-vinyl-1 H-imidazol-3-ium chloride) onto Fe3O4nanoparticles via Cu(0)-mediated reversible-deactivation radical polymerisation method. Various techniques used to characterise nanomaterials. A qualitative analysis performed using ultra-performance liquid chromatography triple–quadrupole tandem mass spectrometry. Response surface methodology based on central composite design optimise procedure optimised condition each factor was; pH of3.9, 22 mg adsorbent, 3.5 min time, 3 desorption 340 µL elution solvent (methanol). The results validation method indicated its acceptable accuracy (88.6-100.1%), good linearity (r > 0.995), satisfactory repeatabilities (RSDs ≤ 6% intra- inter–day precisions) high enrichment factors (535–572). limits detection quantification proposed achieved 1.1-4.6 ngL–1and 3.6-15.3 ngL–1, respectively. study, common PAEs, including dimethyl phthalate, diethyl dibutyl benzyl butyl bis (2-ethylhexyl) di-n–octyl found in PET within range 0.21-0.94 μgL–1, under different storage conditions. Nevertheless, only negligible risk is caused PAEs consumers following recommendations, such storing at place (25°C), short period away sun.

Antimony leaching from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic used for bottled drinking water.

Antimony is a regulated contaminant that poses both acute and chronic health effects in drinking water. Previous reports suggest that polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastics used for water bottles in Europe and Canada leach antimony, but no studies on bottled water in the United States have previously been conducted. Nine commercially available bottled waters in the southwestern US (Arizona) ...

Characterization of poly(ethylene terephthalate) used in commercial bottled water

The aim of this study is to determine which compounds are present into drinking water packaged in poly(ethylene terephtalate) bottles and to know the origin of these substances in relationship with the material. A screening procedure was established for the detection of unknown compounds into bottled water. A panel of water bottles has been tested after exposure to extreme conditions of tempera...

Synthesis of Silica-coated Iron Oxide Nanoparticles: Preventing Aggregation Without Using Additives or Seed Pretreatment

The Stober process is frequently used to prepare silica-coated iron oxide nanoparticles. This is usually achieved by seeding a reaction mixture consisting of water, ethanol and a catalyst with iron oxide particles and adding a silica precursor. The hydrolysis and condensation of precursor monomers results in the deposition of a silica layer on iron oxide particles. However, this process is acco...

Toxicity Assessment of Silica Coated Iron Oxide Nanoparticles and Biocompatibility Improvement by Surface Engineering

We have studied in vitro toxicity of iron oxide nanoparticles (NPs) coated with a thin silica shell (Fe3O4/SiO2 NPs) on A549 and HeLa cells. We compared bare and surface passivated Fe3O4/SiO2 NPs to evaluate the effects of the coating on the particle stability and toxicity. NPs cytotoxicity was investigated by cell viability, membrane integrity, mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), reactive ...
